Where to shop in Belarus?

There are many malls and markets in Minsk. Our guests often ask us to take them to the most popular malls, so we decided to make a small list of the best places for shopping in Minsk. 

 Dana Mall is considered to be the largest shopping mall in Minsk. It is located on slight distance from the city center, in the district called Uruchye. However, Dana mall is just across the road from Minsk National Library and it is a good option to complete your Minsk city tour by visiting this mall. If you plan to visit it by yourself, it is easy to reach the mall by metro (Uskhod metro station) or by taxi. Here you will find most of famous brands like Zara, Pull & Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Mango, New Yorker, Defacto, Massimo Dutti as well as several shops with Belarusian textile, home appliance and a famous multi-brand sport shop.

 

Green City Mall is the second largest mall in Minsk. It is located quite on a distance from the city center but it can be easily reached by car or by metro (Kamennaya Horka station). You will find here such famous brands as Zara, Stradivarius, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Defacto, New Yorker, Mango, Puma, Columbia, Adidas. On the second floor of the mall there are many shoes shops of Belarusian and European brands, located next to each other. It is also a perfect place if you are looking for beauty products and cosmetics as in Green City you can find Belarusian cosmetics in such local chain stores like Mila as well as brand stores of European and Korean cosmetics brands like Ziaja, L’Occitane, Yves Rocher, Missha.

And if you are looking for something new, what you cannot find in your country, you can visit shops of Belarusian (Krasa, Sorochinskaya, Lado) and Rusian (Zarina, Savage, Befree) brands.

You can also buy here bags and souvenirs from natural leather in such famous Belarusian shops like Makey and Galanteya.

 

Galleria Mall is well known to almost all tourists visiting Minsk as it is conveniently located in the heart of the city. It is the first mall which is visited in Minsk by most of the tourists. Here you will find a large multi brand cosmetics shop which belongs to a Russian chain – Zolotoe Yabloko (Gold Apple). Besides famous mass market brands like LC Waikiki, Defacto, Mango, New Yorker, etc.,  it is worth visiting Familia, an off price shop where you can find clothes for all the family, toys, home appliances from famous brands like Reebok, Timberland, Wrangler, Marks & Spencer, New Balance, Quiksilver, Adidas, Mango, Love Moschino, Cavalli Class, Pierre Cardin,  Topshop, French Connection, Lego and many more.

In Galleria you will find unique outfits from Belarusian designers in the space called Trend Park located on the 5th floor of the mall.

From the mall’s food court you can enjoy a fantastic view to the Svisloch River.

 

Galileo is centrally located mall, just next to main Minsk Railway station. A beautiful view at the Minsk Gates opens from this mall. It is also famous by a unique concept of food mall Konkors which has an unusual interior in the theme of train cabins and railway trips. Here you will find mainly mass market brand shops like LC Waikiki and Defacto as well as Russian brands like Zarina, Love Republic, Befree, Ostin, etc.

 

Zamok is located in Pobediteley avenue, in the city centre, however, it’s better to go there by car or by taxi as there is no metro station nearby. Alternatively, it can be reached by bus #1 which goes through Pobediteley avenue. It has slightly different concept unlike most of malls in Minsk. Although you can find some mass market brands here, Zamok is focused more on a premium segment. Here you will find such brands like Takeshy Kurosawa, Lacoste, Guess, Gant, Karl Lagerfeld Jeans, Marc O'Polo, Weekend MaxMara, Trussardi, Tom Tailor, Levi’s etc.

You will find here several shops of famous Belarusian designers like Burvin and Nelva.

If you ever had an idea of ice skating, you have a chance to try it in Zamok ice rink. There is no classic food court in the mall but it has a large bistro with home style Belarusian food and super budget prices and Belveder bistro which has kids play area and a smoking area in a covered terrace.

 

Palazzo is a relatively small shopping mall. It is located just behind Zamok, so it is a good idea to visit these two malls in one at a time. Although Palazzo is not a big shopping mall, here you can find such brands which are not available in other malls, mainly such Polish brands like Reserved, Mohito, Cropp and House. Here you can also find another famous shops like Defacto, Zarina and Befree. But you definitely should visit Palazzo if traveling with kids. Here you will find several kinds play areas with trampolines, rope parks, labyrinths, etc. (BananCity, FlashPark), kids’ karting, lego play area Las Legas, cinemaruim (3d entertainment in which you can see the space, fantastic worlds, beautiful scenery, extreme rides and more), Experimentus exhibition for kids (various inventions of famous scientists which can be not only see but also touched by hands).

 

Stolitsa is a mall built underground. It is located on the Independence square, next to a famous touristic landmark – the Red Catholic Church. The name of the moll is translated as “capital”. You can easily reach it by metro going to Ploshcha Lenina station. Stolitsa is a place where you will find mainly Belarusian brands and products therefore it is the best place to buy souvenirs. For example, you can find here such Belarusian clothes brands like Eliz (men’s clothes), Alesya, Lemongrass, Elema, Kalinka, Svitanak, Nelva, Lado, etc. You can buy souvenirs in several shops including Makey, Neman, Skarbnitsa.  And, of course, you definitely should buy Belarusian sweets, brand shops of all famous sweets producers you will find in Stolitsa: Spartak, Krasny Pishevik, Krasny Mozyrianin, Slodych, Kommunarka, Karavai.

 

Expobel is huge market where you can find everything: clothes, shoes, home appliance, construction materials, electronics, etc. It is located in Minsk suburbs, on the way to the airport. Usually it will be more convenient for tourists to visit malls in the city, however, if you are a fan of shopping, Expobel is a good place to visit. Most of famous shops are located in the covered area, Expobel mall (there is also outdoor market and large mall for construction materials and home appliances). Here you will find such shops like Deacto, LC Waikiki, Koton, Sinsay (really attractive prices for clothes and some accessories, specially good choice of kids’ clothes), Mango Outlet, Familia, Sasch, Zarina. There are many entertainment areas for kids: carousel, bowling, 5-d park, rope park, trampolines and many more.

 

Komarovski Market is a large covered and outdoor market where you can find all types of food in Belarus (meat, fish, fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy and milk products). If you want to try fresh local food, then you should definitely visit Komarovka. Here you can also buy high quality honey and honey products with a very attractive price, herb tea, Belarusian sweets which can be taken as gifts for your family and friends. By the way, there is a halal meat shop. If you visit Belarus in summer and plan a picnic, for example, you can visit it to buy tawook, kebab or other fresh meat for a fantastic barbeque.

 

Zhdanovichi Market is the most famous market in Minsk, here you can find absolutely everything (clothes, food, furniture, construction and repairmen materials, electronics, automobiles, animals, second hand and vintage goods. If you are a fan of old style shopping  or looking something unusual, then it has sense of visiting this market.
